The farm, which occupies almost 40 acres, is situated on the hills of the “Val Di Vara” valley,
very close to the Cinque Terre in Liguria, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy famous everywhere
for its fantastic local products such as olive oil, pesto dressing,
home made pasta and bread and many others.
The name “I DUE GHIRI” in Italian means “TWO DORMICE“:
these two were found still asleep by the workers
during the refurbishment of the farmhouse in the winter of 2001.

The kitchen of our house is not a real restaurant... we like to call it ``cooking for friends``.
The farm raises sheep and farmyard animals and organically grows olives, fruit trees and vegetables...
an ideal location to visit the incredible Cinque Terre
and the breathtaking Golfo dei Poeti or to hike around the paths
within the nation park of the Val di Vara or to visit
the stunning nearby cities of Genova, Pisa and Lucca.
The peaceful countryside of our farmhouse will be waiting for you
at the end of your excursions with a large selection of local wines
and organic delights from our vegetable garden.
The opinion and reviews of our guests
I due ghiri is away from the crowd but close enough to visit everything. Gaia advised us how to get to the ferry to cinque Terre and where to park our car. We also had a cooking lesson from Gaia and learned a lot from h er and had a great time, while the other guests also enjoyed the good we prepared. We've got good memories and enjoyed our time in the spacious apartment
[...] If you are looking for a true Italian rural experience with delightful food and company in a very comfortable setting, then this is for you you. However if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not that and is not trying to be that. It offers so much more than a hotel experience.
What I will say though is that this has been the most delightful stay we have had in Italy so far.
It has created a wonderful memory for us and I will be sad to leave here.
We spent 6 nights at I Due Ghiri with our little boy who is 3. Gaia and Stefanie made us feel very welcome. Our little boy fell in love with Pippina the dog and followed her everywhere. The location of the farm is great for visiting the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Lucques, Pisa etc. We can not recommend it highly enough. It's a wonderful place.
