The agriturismo is a typically Italian reality, different from the traditional forms of hospitality (hotels, B & B, landlords), very often not known in Europe and in the rest of the world. Born as a farm where, in full respect of nature and the characteristics of the place, agriculture and farming are practiced, often with biological methods, and the products of the earth are transformed.
And the farm with its accommodations also becomes a reference of hospitality for all those who wish to share, even if for short periods, this lifestyle (or rural experience), transforming the stay into a holiday-experience
Generally, the farm offers accommodation in rooms or apartments, administer meals and drinks mainly of farm origin or from neighboring companies but also organizes recreational activities such as tastings, cooking workshops, educational workshops, excursions or guided tours
The tourist who chooses a holiday on a farm is a subject lover of contact with nature, good food, the rediscovery of traditions, rural culture and the slow pace of the holiday, an alternative to the “mass”.
It is therefore a “conscious” tourist, who wants not only to stay in a place but to try to become part of it, tasting what it has to offer, and developing, often, a sort of affection towards the places visited, so as to be induced, even once back home, to research the flavors of the products tasted during the holiday.
